It's that time of year again. So, I thought you would enjoy some facts about winter and the holiday season. Some you may know and some may be new to you, but whatever the case, have fun!
*Jingle Bells was originally written for Thanksgiving, but is now the most popular Christmas songs
*The first president to decorate the White House for Christmas was Franklin Pierce
*Electric lights for trees were first used in1895
*If you received all the gifts in the song 'Twelve Days of Christmas,' then you should receive a total of 364 presents
*Holly berries are poisonous and despite prior beliefs, poinsettias are not
*In 1843, Charles Dickens wrote "A Christmas Carol" in six weeks
*The first state to recognize Christmas as a holiday was Alabama. It became a nationally recognized holiday in 1870
