If you don't seem to worry too much about typos on your resume, a recent survey by Accountemps might convince you that you're out of sync with many of the prospective employers who might hire you…or not.
In the study, 150 senior executives from around the United States were asked one question: "how many typos in a resume does it take for you to decide not to consider a job candidate for a position with your company?"
Forty percent of the respondents said that just one resume typo would end a candidate's chances; while another 36 percent said two typos would do so. "Employers view the resume as a reflection of the applicant, "says Max Messmer, chairman of Accountemps.
"If you make errors on your application materials, the assumption is you'll make mistakes on the job."
