The plot is this Thomas Craven a homicide detective in the Boston Police force is at home during his off duty time and his 24-year old daughter Emma is sick and in need of a hospital so as they rush to get going and to the hospital to masked gun men shot at his daughter killing her.
Afterwards everyone assumes that Thomas was the killer's real target.
However, Thomas begins to put the pieces together that maybe Emma was the real target. Driven by his heartache and pain , he goes out on his own private brand of vigilante justice to uncover Emma's secret life and the reason for her murder.
His investigation leads him down the path of corporate and government cover-ups, that you'll never see coming.
I'm a fan of the second take of "Edge Of Darkness" staring Bob Peck that aired on BBC in 1985 and the original staring Errol Flynn, Ann Sheridan, and Walter Huston that was released in 1943.
There is not a moment of this film that slows down or gives you time to breath.
The only down turn to this movie is that it semi-resembles movies like "Taken," "Enemy of the State" and Gibson's older film, "Payback."
But if you miss the action days of Gibson, this is the movie for you.
Be advised it has a lot of swearing, violence and sexual content, which is evident if you've seen the previews or the trailer.
I recommend this movie to any fan of action and anyone that loves to see Mel Gibson Kick some butt.
