Music's biggest night came January 31, 2010 at 8 p.m. eastern time on CBS.
The event scored its highest rating since 2004. According to results from Nielson, the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards show scored a rating of 25.8 million average viewers. That rating was a 35 percent increase from last years show.
The night was filled with awesome performances from artists such as Lil Wayne, Eminem, Drake, Jamie Foxx, T-Pain, Slash, Doug E. Fresh, Travis Barker, Green Day, Elton John, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, Dave Matthews Band, Lady Gaga, Maxwell, Pink,Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood just to name a few. A special 3-D GRAMMY tribute to Michael Jackson was also conducted at the show.
Kings of Leon came away with the Record of the Year with the record Use Somebody. The Song of the Year award was given to Beyonce for the track Single Ladies. Taylor Swift came away with the Album of the Year with her album Fearless. Winning the award for Best New Artist was the Zac Brown Band. Maxwell won the award for Best R&B Album.
The Best Gospel Song award winner was Mary Mary ft. Kierra Sheard for God in Me. The Best Country Vocal Performance awards went to Taylor Swift and Keith Urban.
This was just a glimpse at a few of the countless awards given at the 52nd annual event. The performances were phenomenal and the star studded event was a delight to enjoy. Well I'm your boy Sir Coop and this has been your Inside Scoop. Be sure to keep music alive. God Bless
